Mattel`s Game On at Our Mama Game Night

Our May momstown Mama Game Night was sponsored by Mattel to help promote Mattel's Game On!

Mattel ‘Game On’ is launching their NEW campaign connected to “game personalities” on their Game On Facebook Page and how our playing style often matches the games we like to play.
Every “Game On!” title has its own unique personality.  You can use Mattel's Facebook APP to determine your “Game On!” personality, and find out which Mattel games best suit your gaming personality.

Mattel sent us some AWESOME games including Apples to Apples, Blokus, Angry Birds, UNO Power Grab and Card Game, Mad Gab and more!
Our lucky moms gathered together and had a GREAT night playing and competing together.

Laughs all around the table with Mad Gab!

While another group of our gaming moms enjoyed Apples to Apples.

After a late night of FUN and laughter, five of our lucky moms WON Mattel games to take home and play with their families.

Thanks so much for an awesome Mama Game Night Mattel!
We had our Game On and we enjoyed every minute!

momstown's Children's May French Book Club in Newmarket and Aurora

This month momstown Newmarket and Aurora held another awesome event thanks to Scholastic Canada,

Contes pour les bouts d'choux!
Tales for Tots in FRENCH!
We are thrilled to be bringing this French program to moms and kids in Newmarket and Aurora.

This month we read,
Les dinosaures apprennent les couleurs

Illustrator Mark Teague
Our French dinosaurs use colours to create. They begin with red: A red fire truck stuck under the bed, A purple towel left on the floor, A green sign taped to the closet door. This book is packed with vibrant illustrations of dinosaurs drawing, painting, and playing, that will captivate and inspire children as they learn their colours.

Our new member Waty read the book to our group.
The children enjoyed the book and craft that followed.

We made coloured dinosaurs together using paper plates, paint, goggle eyes, glue, and our imaginations.

Our lucky mom Devon, mom of 3 WON a brand new copy of this book.

May Contest

May mom of the Month

 Becky Bernier

age:  35
children:  James (4) and Claire (8 months)
currently resides in:  Mount Albert
childhood ambition:  I wanted to be three things:  a ballerina, a teacher, and a mommy.  I guess 2 out of 3 is not bad!
fondest memory:  The wonderful milestone memories first come to mind such as my wedding day and the birth of my two little ones.  But I really have fond memories of my honeymoon with Andrew in Maui, Hawaii!  It’s absolute paradise!
proudest moment:  Each and every new first with my kids—and the moments keep getting better!  I’m currently proud of James for making a letter J to sign his name, and Claire for rolling her way across a room.
biggest challenge:  Always time!  Not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything.  I have learned that my kitchen floor will never be clean and that there will always be fingerprints on the windows, but instead I am trying to enjoy the precious (and sometimes not-so-precious) moments with the kiddies.
perfect day:  A day on the beach with the family at our cottage in Nova Scotia.  Perfection!

Discovering window clings and sticky stuff with momstown Newmarket and Aurora

This month momstown Newmarket and Aurora's moms and kids gathered to discover sticky stuff and what makes paper cling to windows with our Little Scientists Program.

First we took dry paper and tried to get it to stick to a window, it just fell off.
Then we took some tape and it stuck to the window, stickers did too.

But then, we dipped our paper in water and all the children lined up to take turns sticking their paper to the window.

Finally, the children made crafts by sticking all kinds of sticky stuff to paper, mainly glue, tape, bandaids and stickers.

 Everyone had a great time!

Newmarket and Aurora moms and kids make butterfly snacks

This month momstown Newmarket and Aurora moms and kids gathered to make butterfly snacks with our Junior Chef program.

First, we started by decorating wooden clothes pegs as the body of our butterflies. Some of the children used stickers and some used glitter glue.
Then, we took grapes and Goldfish and put them into snack size ziplock bags, keeping the grapes on one side and the goldfish on the other.
We sealed the bags up and pinched the middle with the decorated clothes pins and put a pipe cleaner folded in half as the antennae.

The children of course enjoyed eating the grapes and goldfish as they filled their bags.
