Go Baby Go! Fisher Price Stride-to-Ride Dino!

One of the benefits of owning momstown Newmarket and Aurora is that my son was so lucky to have the opportunity to test out the Stride-to-Ride Dino from Fisher Price!
The look on his face as I opened the box was priceless.
He couldn't stop saying "wow mama, wow!"
I was so happy that it only took me a quick minute to assemble Dino, since my son, like most 2 year old's, is not very patient.
He jumped right on and zipped around the house, pressing all the buttons and of course, zooming after our dog.
His favourite sound is the giant "roar" that the Dino makes. AJ loves to hear it, and presses the buttons all day long.  I love that it keeps him entertained for hours and he is also burning off all his energy when we stay indoors.
His Stride-to-Ride Dino is one of his most favourite toys, the first one he goes to in the morning and he would probably sleep with it if I let him.
I would like to Thank Fisher Price for this wonderful gift.

momstown's Wadding for Fun!

There is a secret place in Newmarket, where the water is clean, warm and there are 2 lifeguards to watch over us...

The Wadding Pool!

Hidden behind a Newmarket school, there is plenty of sun and shade along with a playground for those who need a water break.

momstown Newmarket and Aurora gather there every week, weather permitting to enjoy some safe fun in the sun.
You should join us next time, but remember to pack a lunch, sometimes it's hard to get the children to leave.

A Word of Caution

A few weeks ago a received an email from paypal asking me to verify all my info. The email was addressed to " dear customer" not dear Christine, which was my first clue. They asked for everything DOB, SIN # etc, and my second clue was that I never remembered giving them my SIN number in the first place. I called into Paypal, and they confirmed the email was fraud! I forwarded it to their crime office and deleted the email.

Today, I received another email from RBC. Also a dear customer email, and asking me too verify me info. I called RBC and again it's another fraud email of these people trying to steal my info. I have sent it to their fraud dept too. I noticed the phone number on the email was a RBC # and it also read "all rights revered|, blah blah blah to look legit! Keep your eyes open for anyone asking for your personal info.

Make sure the emails are addressed to your full name and not customer or anything like that. I remember receiving one from Scotia bank months ago, but deleted it since I do not have a Scotia account...I should have clued in then too.
Stay safe, and make a quick call to insure the company is looking for your info, for REAL!!!

The Big Cook with Chateau Des Charmes

Moms everywhere, are always looking for new ways to feed their families while staying on budget and saving time.

The Big Cook event combines fun, prep work and savings for our momstown families.

Plus our lucky host Tamara WON a beautiful gift of their Generation Seven Wine.
The Wine was yummy, the company was hilarious and the big cook went perfectly!  We can't wait to taste the meals we prepared!
We are planning another Big Cook event in September, I hope you will join us!

momstown's Children's Book Club

Our momstown curriculum focused on "Fun at the Beach" in July.

Scholastic Canada sponsors our Children's book Club every month and has donated a copy of The Sand Castle Contest by Robert Munsch for us to read and one to give away to a lucky family.

momstown Newmarket and Aurora gathered at All Our Kids Play Park to read the Sand Castle Contest have a snack, and do a fun craft.

Fun Times!

Our lucky mom Laura and her two children Logan and Melody won a brand new copy of The Sand Castle Contest that was donated by Scholastic Canada.

I would like to thank Scholastic Canada for the generous gifts, our chapter loves our children's book club and we look forward to it every month.

Richmond Hill Live Steamers

One of our MOST favourite trips with our momstown Newmarket and Aurora chapter is when we visit the Richmond Hill live Steamers!  I really could not tell you who enjoys this event more, the children or the parents???

This private club of engineers, opens their doors only twice a year to the public, for rides, and FUN!

There are steam engine trains, and electric ones too, plus there are really tiny ones that can only pull a couple people.  This was the first time in 3 visits that my son and I were able to ride both trains, because the line-ups grow so fast.  We also make sure to drop off a donation in one of their red boxes around the facility or by lunch from their yummy BBQ.

We always make sure to arrive early as is gets pretty packed very quickly and there is only street parking.
We will return in September for their next open house for sure!

momstown Movie Night Out!

momstown Newmarket and Aurora moms meet once a month to enjoy our Movie Night Out event.

We met for a quick drink at Milestones in Newmarket before we ran over to get out movie tickets.  We arrived a few minutes early and decided to play some FUN games in the arcade.

Krista and Elizabeth had a great time competing with each other.  You should have seen the amount of tickets they won!  We always seem to have so much fun together.

momstown.ca is also having fun around town.

2011 AURORA CANADA DAY PARADE

Our momstown chapter walked in the Aurora Canada Day parade today.

The Newmarket and Aurora momstown moms, gathered together to cut out our decorations a few days before and worked hard to have it all ready in time for the parade.

We decorated our strollers and wagons, dressed in red and white and applied tons of suntan lotion because it was a beautiful day.

Our momstown families walked together for 2 kms south on Yonge st, smiling and waving to the thousands of on-lookers.
We had such a great time.
