momstown at The Beach!

Our Newmarket and Aurora momstown chapter visited De La Salle Beach today!

The weather was beautiful, but the water was a bit chilly! The children didn't seem to mind, but the moms, well they only stuck their feet it.

We packed a lunch and our sand toys and spent the day together trying to use every last day of summer before school begins in a few days.

We were all very sandy when we left, but nothing a little bath couldn't fix!

We are already planning to go back next year, AND we may even try to camp overnight at Sibbald point...if we dare.

Our momstown Trip to Elmvale Zoo

Our Newmarket and Aurora momstown moms had a huge turn out at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo trip today.

We met at the zoo, and had a GREAT time walking around and checking out all the animals.

We had a chance to pet the miniture goats, but we had to watch our step, and clean off our shoes before we got into our cars...

momstown also got up close and personal with a few other animals.

We had an AWESOME time!

Fisher Price; Little People, Zoo Talkers!

Who loves Fisher Price???

We do!

I grew up loving my Fisher Price toys and felt my son should experience the same happiness.

Throughout his two years, my son has accumulated quite a collection of Fisher Price toys and products, and we will we welcoming many more into our home as the birthdays and holidays pass.

Once again, my LUCKY little man was chosen to test the Fisher Price; Little People, Zoo Talkers toy.

I work full time and operate momstown Newmarket and Aurora, so I don't have much free time, and I found the Fisher Price; Little People, Zoo Talkers toy was a breeze to assemble, 3 tiny screws and everything else simply clicks into place. It took no more then 5 minutes for me to take it out of the box and have it ready for my son to play with...LOVE that!

I had his Zoo Talkers toy ready for my son to play with when he walked in our home from daycare. He walked right over to it and didn't say a word, which for my 2 year old, was pretty impressive. He started to play with the animals, listening to all the FUN sounds and having them go down the slide.

I would have to say, Fisher Price has another BIG SELLER with their Zoo Talker Toy for sure!

Hours of FUN at our home, thanks to Fisher Price, Little People Zoo Talkers which means an easier time for me when I am preparing our dinners.

Got to love Fisher Price! You never disappoint!

momstown plays at Brooks Farm

Our Newmarket and Aurora momstown children LOVE our trips to Brooks Farm!

They can run around from the huge sand box, to the bouncing ponies, or check out the Pig race and feed the animals too.

Don't forget about the wagon ride and the chip truck!

momstown will be returning for sure this Fall for there Fall Festival.

momstown's Children's Book Club

All our kids playground in Newmarket is where our momstown Newmarket and Aurora chapter meets for our monthly children's book club.

The children play around until its time for snack and books. We also have FUN with a new craft everytime!

momstown has been luck to partner with Scholastic Canada and they sponsor our monthly childrens book club, with book donations for one lucky family every month.

momstown at Canada's Wonderland

Our Newmarket and Aurora momstown chapter planned a special trip to Canada's Wonderland with our little ones this August.

Despite the clouds and a bit or rain, we had a awesome time!

The children were able to go on plenty of the rides alone, and tons with mom too. Everyone had a wonderful time, and some want to buy a season's pass for next year too!

We have plans to go back this season...but just the momstown moms!

Toddler Home Security

My son goes down for his afternoon nap everyday. I take hime upstairs, sing to him and put him in bed. Well today was a bit different...

My son, age 2, has figured out how to take the plastic door knob covers off of the doors in our home! Oh NO! I have those safety knobs everywhere in our, basement door, front door, washroom doors, anywhere he could potentially hurt himself. NOW WHAT DO I DO???

I tried to put a gate on his door, so when he opened it, he could not get out, BUT, he just calls me from his door, and the excuses..."I hungry mama", " I thirsty mama" and the best one, "HELP".

I asked our fellow Newmarket and Aurora momstown mom for advice.

I went out and bought a nice lock for our front door, that he can not open. That seems to be working.

My only problem now was the interior doors in our home...

After quite a few sleepless night I gave up and "fixed" the door handle myslelf!

I guess Red Green was right, Duct Tape really does fix all!

So far so good!

Not only a "mom"...

I have always been mechanically inclined, learning from my father as a child, I love to watch and operate all different machinery.

I think that is why along with running momstown Newmarket and Aurora, I also work in the transportation field and can operate a bus, subway and don't forget the best vehicle of all...a motorcycle! I guess that is where my son gets it from, I only hope he learns to stay safe around any equipment.

In fact, for my 30th birthday, my significant other (gotta love him) actually gave me a 100 piece drill bit set and electric sander. Now, to be perfectly honest, I would have LOVED jewellery or something more romantic, but I did like the gifts, just not really what I expected.

We rented an small excavator to help us with our new backyard patio, and we had tons of FUN with it!

Please keep in mind, I did not take after my mom...she is trying to video tape me operating the excavator. I do love her for her efforts...

I know there are a few other women out there who take on numerous roles in the family, and I am proud to say I am one of them.

Maybe, little Miss Kristen below, will follow in my foot steps...
